116 Boats Registered by the Early Entry Deadline | 01 Jun 16, piret.salmistu

116 has been a record number of the Moonsund regatta so far, which dates back to 2014. Since there is still more than a month to go to the regatta, the organizers are hoping to see some more boats, and who knows, maybe even a record number of participants!

May 30 was for the sailors interested to participate at the A. Le Coq 59. Moonsund regatta the early registration deadline. If on May 27 there were 66 yachts on the entry list, the three days preceding the closing date, led to even 40 registering!

In the list of entries we can see 97 Estonian, 11 Russian, 5 Latvian, 2 Finnish and one Lithuanian sail number.

Particularly proud to see the list of 18 Folkboot class boats! Mikk Köösel, who got the badge of honour from the Estonian President this winter for developing the Folkboot class and has been inspiring the sailors to join, can be proud for his huge work done.  Participating for years at the Moonsund regatta with his Folkboot alone can see a lot of competition now, among of which are now both pretty well experienced and also new teams. Folkboot class development and growth has been significant and Moonsund regatta will see the awarding of the Estonian champions in this class.

The organizers together with the excellent cooperation partners, sponsors and supporters will do everything within their power to keep the standard of the A. Le Coq Moonsund regatta high, and hoping that without this big event the summer of yachtsmen is not perfect :-) News about supporters and sponsors will e brought to the sailors shortly.

Enjoy the preparations for a regatta!
