Course Descriptions from Tallinn to Kärdla | 17 Jul 24, piret.salmistu

For the third stage of the 67th Muhu Väina Regatta, yachts will navigate from Tallinn to Kärdla on July 17, 2024. Here are the detailed courses for different classes:

ORC I and ORC II

The course for ORC I and ORC II yachts spans approximately 80 nautical miles. The race starts about 0.5 nautical miles north of the Pirita North mole. The first rounding mark is the Aegna island west spar buoy (59°34.5'N, 24°43.6'E), which yachts must leave to port. Next, they will round the Uusmadal shoal south spar buoy (59°39.53'N, 24°36'E), again leaving it to port. After passing the island of Osmussaar on their port side, they will navigate past the Selgrahu north buoy (59°6.285'N, 22°51.55'E), leaving it to port as well. The stage finishes approximately 3 nautical miles north of Kärdla harbour.

ORC III and ORC IV

Yachts in ORC III and ORC IV will cover a slightly shorter distance of approximately 70 nautical miles. The start line is the same, about 0.5 nautical miles north of the Pirita North mole. The first passing mark is the Paljassaare east spar buoy (59°29.912'N, 24°42.35'E), which they will leave to port. The next waypoint is the Selgrahu north buoy (59°6.285'N, 22°51.55'E), also to be left to port. The race concludes approximately 3 nautical miles north of Kärdla harbour.

Folkboat Class

The Folkboat class also follows a course of approximately 70 nautical miles. Starting from the same point north of the Pirita North mole, these yachts have a free course without specific navigation marks before reaching the finish line, located around 3 nautical miles north of Kärdla harbour.
